1. Control Center Service

In a web browser:
Go to and select Login from the menu on top of the page
or directly go to and sign in with your credentials (email address and password).

The set point on the central thermostat can be adjusted as following:

  • 1 degree down during N highest spot price hours
  • 1 degree up during M lowest spot price hours

Alternative 1.

  • Set the default temperature. Default temperature is used outside scheduled periods.
  • Create a schedule with temperatures for the desired week days. You can use the default schedule load feature.

Alternative 2.

  • Set the default temperature
  • Create at least one schedule point (e.g. 1 hour) with a temperature setting.
  • Schedule point temperature and default temperature can be the same. You can change schedules / temperature settings from the browser at any time.

Please note:
You can use a browser on your mobile device.
You can see the set point from your mobile client (Salusfin app).
The vacation mode overrides spot price control. When vacation mode ends, spot price control will resume. Spot price control will override temperature setting changes from a mobile client.

The boiler can be heated as following (where the value N is adjustable):

  • During N lowest spot price hours
  • In a time window: 23.00-07.00

You can see the relay status from a browser or a mobile client.
Spot price control has priority during 23.00-07.00. Outside that period the user can control the relay from the web or a mobile client.

At 7.00 the heating is turned off.

The vacation mode overrides spot price control and the relay is turned off. When the vacation mode ends, the spot price control will resume.

When initiating the spot price control, please remove the scheduling on the relay.

In case the maximum water temperature is reached during heating, the boiler’s own thermostat will interrupt the heating, therefore there is no overheating risk.

2. Installation

Insert the router into the USB connector correctly and check if the blue light turns on for about 2 seconds and then shuts off. Turn on the router. Check that you have wireless network credentials available.

Main Installations Steps
Select the wireless network with the name starting with NQ from your device screen in the bottom right corner. Open the web browser and enter the IP address in the address field. Select your home wireless network, enter the credentials and press “save” >>> the LED will light up in blue. Please note:
Please check your Wi-Fi router’s settings. The gateway supports Wi-Fi router channels 1-9 and the frequency 2.4 GHz. We have seen compatibility issues with a gateway and Wi-Fi routers by Apple.

In case you have changed your internet router, please go to Section 3.7 for instructions on resetting your gateway settings and then return to Section 2.A to resume the installation.

3. Components Installation

The smartplug is a smart device that allows to turn on and turn off the power of the connected devices. In addition, it displays the power consumption of the device connected. For more detailed information kindly read the instructions.

If the LED indicator flashes on the smart plug, it is not connected to the router.

Please refer to the instructions for connecting and pairing the components to the router and to the network.

In the section “Manuals” under the “Support” menu of our website, you will find detailed instructions for each step of the installation.

You can fasten the temperature switch and its magnet piece with the supplied screws or a double-sided adhesive tape.
Note the mark on the side of the sensor for the magnetic piece. The magnet should be 2-4 mm away from the sensor when the door or window is closed.

Test the function of the sensor: the LED should flash when the door or window is open.

It depends on the sensor location, its distance from the router, and how often it will be activated. Based on the data provided by the manufacturer, the battery life is 1 year under normal usage conditions.

The LED indicator on the gateway provides information about different modes of operation.

LED solid patterns are the following:
SOLID BLUE: everything is fine, the gateway is connected through Wi-Fi
SOLID RED: network problem (e.g. the gateway could not connect to the router, was disconnected or cannot reach the communication server or incorrect Wi-Fi password was entered during installation)

LED blinking patterns:
BLINKS BLUE ONCE, THEN TURNS OFF: the gateway is in the access point mode, typically during the installation or a Wi-Fi reconfiguration.
BLINKS BLUE EVERY 3 SECONDS: the gateway is working properly and is connected to the router (valid for gateways with 2xx firmware)
BLINKS GREEN: the gateway is communicating with the components on Z-Wave network
BLINKS BLUE EVERY SECOND: the gateway is downloading a new firmware
TOGGELS BETWEEN BRIGHT BLUE AND DIMMED BLUE: the gateway is decrypting downloaded firmware
BLINKS BLUE VERY FAST (every 250 ms): the gateway is updating firmware
BLINKS RED: the gateway indicates a serious issue, e.g. hardware or software problems
TOGGLES BETWEEN RED AND BLUE: the gateway attempts to reconnect to the Wi-Fi after a network problem

Note! In a problem situation please restart the gateway. If the problem persists, please contact technical support.

Please check the following:

  • After the gateway installation, did you get a notification that the installation was successful
  • Was the gateway LED indicator continuously BLUE after installation
  • Have you changed your internet router password lately
  • Is your internet router using the supported channels 1-9
  • Is your internet router using frequency 2.4 GHz (supported) or 5 Ghz


In case the password for your internet router was incorrect or you have changed your internet router to a new one.

  • Unplug the gateway, push the button and keep it pushed, plug the gateway, release the button after couple of seconds
  • The LED indicator is turned off: the  gateway network configuration is cleared
  • Install the gateway again: the LED indicator will turn BLUE
  • Proceed to installing other components.


  • Please check your home router configuration

In case you have changed the internet router and reset the gateway settings, please follow the according instructions above and return to Section 2.1.

Salusfin smart thermostat SF-500 is supplied by Danfoss (manufacturer’s own name: Living connect® Z).

Note! The thermostat can be installed only when the “M” figure is blinking on the screen.

  • Long press for 4-5 s: “M” figure on display
    Short press: first screen goes black, then a blinking “M” figure
  • When the piston is pulled in, the thermostat can be installed
  • Once installed, a long press of 4-5 s: the thermostat will measure valve min/max positions
  • After couple of seconds the temperature value is visible
  • The thermostat is in operation.

The first 1-7 days after installation, the Living connect® Z is in a learning period and will optimize the heat control of the room.

When the voltage is getting low, the user interface will start blinking, indicating battery change. Standard AA-batteries are used.

Note! When changing batteries, pay attention to the correct battery direction in the chamber.

If you press accidentally the “Install” button, you will see the “M” figure. Wait for some time and the thermostat will regain normal operation.

Changing batteries

Turn the thermostat carefully for the battery chamber to point upwards. Remove the battery chamber lid. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones. Rechargeable batteries may not be used. Turn the thermostat in the right direction. Pay attention to the battery direction (see the picture below).

4. Device and App Usage

The Salusfin apps are built for iOS and Android. The following versions are supported:

  • iOS 7 (iPhone 4) and newer
  • Android version 4.4 and newer

Unofficial Android versions are not necessarily fully supported.

Some firewall and virus protection software can prevent the app from functioning correctly.

The app automatically keeps track of additional devices that have been added to the network through the Salusfin Control Center.

Select the device you want to add to “Favourites” on the “Home” tab. Hold the finger on the desired icon for 2-3 seconds. Select “Add to favourites” from the menu that appears. In the same way you are able to remove icons from the “Favorites” list.

Upon first login you are asked to set a security code for your APP in order to restrict access to the APP in case you leave your phone unlocked. If you don’t want to secure the APP you can at this step click “Skip” and you will be taken straight into the view of your devices.

You can later in the Settings menu enable/disable and change security code if needed.

You can secure the whole APP or the video streaming (if you have Salusfin videocamera).

You can change the security code time out period in Settings.

If you have forgotten or lost your security code, you can request a new one from the security code screen by following the link “Forgot security code”. In the next step you will be asked to fill in your credentials (e-mail and password).

The “Settings” functions can be found under the 3 stripes in the upperleft corner of the app.

The “Settings” option in your app allows you to modify and manage various functions, such as security code, energy cost, appearance of the app, device view, sorting preferences (drag and drop) and the “About” section with app version details and links to EULA.

In the Salusfin Control Center under “Settings” you can define the currency and cost of your energy per kWh/m3. This information is shown in the app’s settings and is used for reporting if a power reader is installed.

5. Miscellaneous

We provide secure data. The data flow is encrypted all the way from components to cloud services, mobile clients and web platforms. We use an Amazon cloud platform and its related services, which are available to customers. The connection to the server is initiated from the site, meaning that no firewall opening is needed. For local services, e.g. scheduling service, no data connection to cloud is needed.
